Meeting at the Dicastery for Evangelization with representatives of the BIE and Expo 2030 Riyadh

His Excellency Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, accompanied by Archbishop Graham Bell, Undersecretary in charge of the Secretariat, and Stefano Riccardi, Official of the Dicastery, received at the Dicastery headquarters His Excellency Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), His Excellency Talal AlMarri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, accompanied by Mulham Al-Bakree, Chief of Stakeholder Management of Expo 2030 Riyadh, and Mohammadi AlShenqiti, Senior Director of the International Participants Department of Expo 2030 Riyadh.

During the cordial meeting, the experience of the Holy See’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka was reviewed, for which His Excellency the Pro-Prefect served as Commissioner General. It was highlighted how this presence represented an important opportunity for dialogue, encounter, and cultural diplomacy, leaving a significant human and relational legacy that continues to live on in the memories and experiences of the many visitors and participants.

During the meeting, the delegation presented the perspectives related to Expo 2030, and CEO Talal AlMarri showcased several projects currently under development.

The discussion took place in a very cordial atmosphere, confirming the value of World Expos as privileged instruments of dialogue among peoples, promoting the building of international relations based on cooperation and peace.
