First Meeting of the Advisory Council for Shrines

Last week marked the first meeting of the Advisory Council for Shrines, a consultative body established by the Section for Fundamental Questions regarding Evangelization in the World of the Dicastery for Evangelization. The Council plays a particularly valuable role in promoting a deeper understanding of the spirituality of Shrines and the specific pastoral ministry dedicated to them.

The meeting, held on 8 and 9 October in a serene and fraternal atmosphere, provided an opportunity for participants to make a concrete contribution by sharing their experiences and offering valuable suggestions for rethinking the Shrine as a place of genuine encounter with God, oneself, and others.

During the Advisory Council meeting, the dates of the Third International Meeting for Rectors and Shrine Personnel were also officially announced. The event will take place in Rome from 18 to 20 November 2027, under the theme Shrine: A Place of Encounter.
