This coming January 24, we will celebrate for the second time the Sunday of the Word of God. This year's theme is taken from the Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians: Hold on to the word of life! (Phil 2:16).

For this occasion, Pope Francis will preside over the Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. from St. Peter's Basilica.

The event will be televised live on Rai1 and on all Catholic broadcasters around the world connected to the Dicastery for Communication and will be streamed on the Vatican News portal (vaticannews.va).

As with other initiatives of the Pontifical Council for Promotion of the New Evangelization, a pastoral aid is available on the Dicastery's website in various languages (English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish).

The Sunday of the Word of God is a pastoral initiative of the New Evangelization, with the aim of reviving the responsibility that believers have in knowing Sacred Scripture and keeping it alive through a work of permanent transmission and understanding, capable of giving meaning to the life of the Church in the different conditions in which it finds itself.
