“Mercy: giving and forgiving”

 April 6-8, 2018

“Mercy is a force that overcomes everything, filling the heart with love and bringing consolation through pardon” (Pope Francis).

On the occasion of the Divine Mercy Sunday and as it happened during the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, the Meeting aims to gather together all the different movements and groups that adhere to the Spirituality of Mercy and all those who want to live this profound spirituality, which is the heart of the Gospel.

On Saturday, April 7, at the Church of the Holy Spirit (Chiesa di Santo Spirito in Sassia), moments of prayer and reflection are to take place: at 10.30 am, a catechesis held by Cardinal Camillo Ruini will focus on the importance of the two “columns” that sustain Christian life under the light of the Divine Mercy, according to Pope Francis’ expression: “giving” and “forgiving”; from 4 to 6 pm, there will be a prayer vigil presided over by Archbishop Rino Fischella, in which the Missionaries of Mercy from all around the world are going to be available for the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

On April 8, Divine Mercy Sunday, Pope Francis will preside over the Holy Mass at 10.30 am in St. Peter’s Square.
